          GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
          The Clinical Imaging Consultant provides subject matter expertise and project leadership to the Division Imaging Staff in the overall management of current and planned Radiology applications, services, related technologies, and imaging system projects within the HCA enterprise. This position ensures continuity and alignment of t imaging systems across the enterprise with HCA corporate IT&S strategies while recognizing the needs of internal and external customers.

          Primary responsibilities include serving as the an imaging system subject matter expert for assigned divisions, implementing and refreshing imaging systems, system and process alignment of assigned divisions, and the completion of assigned imaging special projects. This individual also assists in resolving highly complex issues regarding imaging applications, coordinates budget and 5 Year Plan creation, assists Division Imaging Systems Manager formulate strategies and solutions for their divisions and champions standardization, utilization, optimization and use of imaging system management best practices.

          The Clinical Imaging Consultant must also provide subject matter expertise in medical imaging applications and workflows including the latest medical imaging application developments to ensure provided solutions meet or exceed customer requirements. This position requires strong technical skills, people skills, personal drive, and the ability to see strategy through to execution in a matrix reporting environment. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are also required.

          DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
          IT Project Leadership, Creation of Standards, Budget Creation, Project Management, Technical Expertise, Customer and Vendor Relationship Management, Incident Management
          * Establishes goals and priorities in the overall management of current and planned Radiology applications, services, and related technologies within the division.
          * Coordinates the assignment of resources to Radiology projects, operations, & incidents
          * Assists in establishing, and communicates, monitors, and manages Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
          * Consults with technical leaders during technical goal setting, prioritization, planning and design for Radiology implementations
          * Participates in the development division-level Radiology standards, policies, and procedures
          * Ensures that the design and use of Radiology applications adhere to established HCA policies, procedures, and standards
          * Leads analysis of organizational needs for development and implementation of Radiology applications; interfaces with users to ensure that Radiology applications are developed which meet their business needs and specifications
          * Assists in the development of the budget and develops project cost estimates for division and/or facilities
          * Promotes system security and patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance
          * Collaborates with enterprise subject matter experts and services in managing resolution of Radiology application incidents and requests Strategic Business/IT Alignment & Planning: Facility/Zone Business/IT Alignment, Strategic Planning
          * Coordinates with corporate, division, and facility-level leadership teams, as needed to align strategy, services, and coordinate any required implementation activities.
          * Collaborates with facilities, Imaging Systems Administrators, the Division Clinical Specialist Team, and enterprise imaging application areas to implement the division plans for Radiology applications standardization, utilization, integration and optimization.
          * Serves as a key division resource for implementation and support of medical imaging applications at facilities within the division.
          * Provides escalation level support as a local medical imaging subject matter expert to resolve incidents or fulfill higher level requests.
          * Participates in the planning and implementation of medical imaging applications.
          * Coordinates and manages vendor support for medical imaging solutions.
          * Conducts problem analyses and timely and accurate resolution for complex issues and requests escalated from the division Service Desk or other division or facility service resources regarding advanced clinical applications within their specialty area(s).
          * Participates in root cause analysis as trends in issues in specialty area(s) are identified.
          * Coordinates division-wide testing for advanced clinical applications within their specialty area(s); assists in interpretation of test plans and in troubleshooting.
          * Works with Education Specialist to design and develop base education/training materials in clinical application specialty area(s) to support staff training and continued education.
          * Performs clinical applications report writing as needed and coordinates priorities for reporting requests from the division or corporate offices.
          * Actively supports and promotes systems standardization, utilization, and best practices.
          * Aggregates data for division-level reports.
          * Participates with peers in enterprise communities to identify and evaluate best practices, packaging and promoting cross-division best practice efforts.
          * Identifies, evaluates, designs, and packages division best practices, policies and procedures for clinical application implementation and use.
          * Works with the division facilities to manage/facilitate implementation of standards, best practices, policies, procedures, and utilization plans within a specialty area.
          * Provides on-call and onsite coverage as deemed necessary throughout the division.

          * Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
          Relationship Management & Communication: Facility, Division, and Corporate Operational Leadership, Vendors, Division and Corporate IT Groups
          * Builds positive relationships with business operations, IT&S leadership, and vendors
          * Owns the facilitation of multi-way communication with key constituents on Radiology matters
          * Communicates successes, challenges, opportunities, trends, and lessons regarding Radiology to appropriate leadership at the facility and/or division level
          * Promotes sharing of information through documentation and distribution of best demonstrated practices
          * Builds strong relationships with Radiology application users groups across HCA, IT&S managers and directors, and the Application Services Leadership Council
          * Serves as primary liaison between Corporate, Division facilities, and Radiology vendors
          Standards Creation: Technology Standards Development, Best Practice Definitions
          * Understands the implications of technology solutions to workflow & operations & assists in communicating to key stakeholders
          * Assists in identifying process improvement opportunities & challenges and communicating them to appropriate Division IT leaders for planning & action

          Required:

          EDUCATION
          * Bachelor’s degree preferred
          EXPERIENCE
          * Seven to nine years of direct imaging system management experience including major system upgrades and/or administration
          * Three years experience in budgeting, creating and maintaining policies, and extensive reporting
          * Experience in large, complex organization or corporate structured environment
          * Experience leading large multi-disciplinary projects
          * Experience creating and leading communications with direct reports, senior leaders, business partners, and vendors to ensure collaboration, efficiency, and service excellence
          CERTIFICATE/LICENSE – Applicable ARRT Certification preferred

          PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations. Travel between facilities in a geographic zone may be required.
