Position Overview
Responsible for developing the overall vision to solve technical architecture problems or processes. Partners with Enterprise and Domain Architects, Application Developers and Project Managers during the design, planning and implementation project phases in order to govern the execution of the vision. Leverages in-depth technical knowledge and vision to advance the business’s Architectural capabilities and maturity across the enterprise. Serves as an integral member of the architectural review team.
Responsibilities
• Designs complex web solutions at the component level making strategic technology choices and directly supervises the quality of designs and implementation inside and between components
• Works with web and mobile projects across the enterprise to identify technical architecture development and deployment problems and improvement opportunities
• Collaborates effectively with peer architects to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas. Resolves technological disagreement with informed, rational debate. Crafts web solutions that effectively resolve problems or provide improvement
• Performs website assessments and develops joint recommendations on technical decisions and key architecture (such as web solution or technical architectures and system landscapes) by partnering with vendors, project team members and key subject matter experts
• Translates the draft design into a Technical design document gaining consensus on the components of the solution from SME’s (Subject Matter Experts), the Project Manager and management
• Develops Architecture documents and artifacts from templates working with extended IT and Business teams
• Participates in the development and execution of IT governance process. Compares, contrasts and prioritizes among alternative approaches to meet those objectives while assessing risk both quantitatively and qualitatively
• Identifies web architectural risks and plans to mitigations risks, adherence to standards and best practices
• Actively participates in the development of Web Architecture as a key foundation of IT. Actively supports Enterprise Architecture discipline as a key discipline
• Focuses on how to leverage technologies to improve Web selection and utilization efficiencies
• Leads web development projects. Provides expertise in technical design, development and architecture, design patterns, standards and best practices
• Develops and reviews business cases targeting IT executives. Develop and review technical statements of work, key presentations targeting all levels of staff (e.g. IT executives, business/technology managers, developers, system administrators, etc), research findings (PowerPoint), architectural diagrams (Visio) and supporting details in (Excel)
Participates in high-level web development and site structure work. Works to find solutions to issues identified during cross-project meetings. Influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior product and business management
• Comfortably navigates between highly varying levels of abstraction from business strategy to product strategy to high level technical design to detailed technical design to implementation
• Researches and introduces best practice frameworks/capability models tailored for the environment that will control costs, provide higher quality and/or increase predictability of service deliver
• Influences, coaches, guides, mentors and delegates to web developers in order to facilitate their development. Fosters high performing technical teams

Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field and 7-10 years of experience in Integration of middleware technologies (such as IBM, ESB, and SOA) or as in architectural role or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required
• Prior experience writing Databases queries and procedures and detailed prior experience in Web in WCMS and Web Analytics, required
• Prior experience with Facets and Edifices, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong expertise in Web technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, and Web sphere Application Servers, Web sphere process server, ATG, IBM Message Broker, IIS
• Strong expertise in .Net, JSP. and HTML5, ability to earn the respect of technical personnel across application and web teams
• Strong ability to rapidly learn new techniques and technologies and apply them
• Strong ability to correlate current and local issues and considerations with future enterprise web needs issues and considerations
• Strong ability to analyze, consolidate and communicate complex web, social, and mobile topics to all levels of staff (including but not limited to IT executives, business/technical managers, developers and system administrators) in verbal and written form
• Strong detail orientation, follow-through capabilities and escalation of key issues
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Good relationship management and negotiation abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of technical and non-technical staff
